City of L.O.V.E.

It's been few weeks since we came back from our PARIS trip. Though there were down moments, the fun we had had outweighed it. Let's start from the grand "monument" of the UK - The Eurostar Train Station.

It is one piece of constructive work they've done here. My parents are very impressed by it. Forget about getting on the plane to Paris. Try Eurostar, if you think you can cope with the pressure underground. And when I said underground, I mean UNDER THE GROUND.

I know I'm supposed to show good food but sometimes you have to share the things that might warn other people off bad food. This is called Potato with Herring Fish, if I'm not mistaken. Basically, my mind was blown off the moment I put that in my mouth....IN A BAD WAY. Yuck.

Usually, I'm quite adventurous in exploring new things. QUITE. Not VERY. Look at my hesitation to put that in my mouth. It's simply one bloody snail to me. To the French, it's delicacy, @_@

My parents were actually very happy and excited with the fact that they could finally have a real French Feast. We ordered a seafood platter for two to start with. Maybe our portion of two back home is different. See what you get for a seafood platter for two in France. Ta-Da~

We only had a chance to finish this STARTER. Didn't get a chance to have our main course and desserts. Man. So, feeling pleased with the amount of food we had, we ended with the platter too. How I wish we could get this portion of two back home. What's wrong with the measurement back home??!?!!???

And what's one thing you have to see if you're in Paris? NO, it's not the Eiffel Tower. It's not only Eiffel Tower in Paris. C'mon, it's MONA LISA!! Frankly speaking, I nearly broke into tears when I saw it. Don't even ask why. Just getting emotional. WAHAHAHA~

We thought we wouldn't have time for the La Fayette shopping mall (All high-street brands are sold here - GUCCI, LV, BURBERRY, MULBERRY, CHLOE etc) this trip. Thanks to Mum's perseverance, we were there. Didn't buy anything because we had spent quite a lot on the first day. You wonder, what did we actually spend on...hmm...let me give you a hint. Check out my other entry called "England" and one of the photos under it. It only shows one of the two pieces bought. *wink* Anyway, this is the interior decoration of La Fayette. Maybe I should ask the Sibu Council Committee to come and see what they mean by "MALL" here. Medan Mall is nowhere near MALL standard, more like MOLE...

I actually missed out a lot of details but it's no fun re-telling it. You have to be there to feel the ambience.....I'd love to travel with my parents again. Italy is our next destination and it'll be done next year. That's my promise to you, Mum and Dad.

First day.

When I woke up this morning, I knew my parents were already having their breakfast. I could hear them when they were up. So the breakfast was ready when I went downstairs. It's good to see people having breakfast other than myself. Usually I just have cereals and off I go to school. Today I had something extra. The pandan cake I bought from Peterborough Chinese grocery shop.

I came home for lunch. Again, seeing my parents made my day. All the hard work at school was paid off. I'm so sure I'm going to miss them when they leave next month. Dad already knows where I store food and what's in the cabinet. *champion* Mum sent me off to school. She looked cute standing by the door, hehe. I miss that moment.

Waited for hours to finish school and I thought I'd stay back for a bit to sort out some work. It was a surprise to get a call from reception asking for me as usually the calls weren't anything good apart from doing cover lessons. So for a minute I was scared to get any cover call, though the school had already finished!!

"Hi, Flora, just to let you know that your mum's here in the front office."
"My mum?? Oh...I'm coming to her now. Thanks."

You see, my mum's really into exploring. While my dad was having his recovery sleep this afternoon, my mum went around town and searched for my school. She's one brave lady, isn't she? So, my mum and I went home together, in my hired car. Fiat's a good car. I prefer it to Nissan now.

Nothing much happened apart from the usual stuff. Oh yeah, they're sleeping like a baby while I'm laying my fingers on the laptop at this time. I think I should rest too. It's been a long weekend and Monday. I need to get some sleep. Having a jet-lag myself.

It's good to have you here, Mum, Dad. I love you.

Travelling..

Here's the thing. Last nite I drove down to London from Oundle and it took me about 1.10hours to reach. It was faster than the original plan. TomTom (Satellite Navigator) is indeed a lifesaver. So there I was, waiting for Rose. Oh no, change of plan, she was having her haircut, kinda later than she planned, so I decided to pick up my rice cooker from Ealing. I thought with TomTom, I wouldn't go wrong.

I WAS SO WRONG. It took me extra 30minutes than planned (50mins) to reach the blardy place as the roads in London are pretty "messed up". How can one single lane be separated into two different areas? Does it make sense to you? No, it doesn't to me. Anyway, I was hungry and tired, and having to look for one tiny weeny place in Ealing wasn't the best thing to happen then. So when I reached the friend's friend's place, I bet I had that face black as charcoal!!! Sorry, man, I know it wasn't my best presentation to meet new friends, HAHAHA. Stayed for a bit to chat with Bobby and Maddy. Oh, compliment goes to Maddy's new hairstyle. The curls are much more natural now. *thumbs up*

I left the place some time past 9pm and headed back to Walthamstow. Thank God it was a pleasant and smooth journey. It took approximately 30mins. Rose and Sean were cooking and we had a late dinner. As you've already known from my blog, Rose can really cook so I had another smile last nite. Thanks, girl!!!

Cleaned up after dinner and showered. I guess let's call it a day. Everyone was exhausted. Though my main intention to come down early was to play mahjong, *bummer* Big problem! My mum didn't email me the itinerary I asked for so I wasn't sure of the arrival time and thought they're arriving at 0605 at Terminal 3. Slept at 1am and woke up at 5am. The traffic was not congested at all. I wasn't that sleepy as was looking forward to seeing my parents.

*Fast forward* Parked my car. "Did I forget to collect my parking coupon?" Sugar! Went to check with the staff and oh, no parking coupon needed. Just my credit card. Cool. *pop* Geez, what's that noise? Nothing. Off I went. One hour had gone. I decided to buy some hot chocs and muffin for my parents, just in case they needed to keep themselves warm. Reaching for my cardholder...WHAT?????????????????? Where is it?? I'm pretty sure I had it with me!!! Panicking...NO TIME TO PANIC. Right, trace backwards. I just hoped I didn't drop it on the floor inside the building because anyone could have picked it up. So I walked all the way back to where I was (like a video playing back). Oh yeah, oh yeah, I saw something. Would that be it?? IT'S MY CARDHOLDER ON THE FLOOR!!!! Outside the parking lot where I asked the staff about my coupon. And that noise!!!! It was my cardholder dropping. For one second, I thought "die liao, I need to cancel my cards and stuff". GOD, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

OK, went back in. Waiting. Two hours. Three hours. No mum. No dad. OK, this isn't right. Decided to slot in a pound to see if any siblings online. James's on. He told me Pa and Ma left this morning (Msia time). OK. That explains it all.

Parking fee - 10pounds. I can't wait in there any longer so I decided to drive back to Rose's place and wait. I need a nap.....

TIPS FOR TRAVELLERS
If you need someone to pick you up, inform them your flight number and arrival time the day before you depart and, ALWAYS, email them a copy of your itinerary.

TIPS FOR DRIVERS
If you plan to pick someone up, make sure the things happened to me are not going to happen to you!!!!!!!!

Christmas???

Santa Claus turned up early for me this year. It's so excited for me to unwrap my "gifts". I just can't wait to see them!!!! Yearp, my parents are paying me a visit soon, they're arriving this Sunday, yoohoo~~

I hired a car, and this time getting myself a GPS so that I won't be lost in the traffic for two hours like last couple of times. Not that women are bad in directions, just that I didn't have a map at those times. So don't be such a stereotype OK? You know, the good thing about hiring a car is you don't have to own to drive it. I must say it nearly cost me a fortune to hire but I think it's worth it. Don't know what car I'm getting this time. I think it's Volkswagen. Oh, have I told you that I drove a Nissan Micra a while ago? Well, more like I hired it, hehe. Good car.

They said the traffic to Heathrow Airport is hellish. I'm not worried this time. Am going to relish in the power of technology - Follow the instructions given by the little GPS, I'm sure I won't go too wrong ;)

By the end of Pa and Ma's trip, I reckon they'd have visited more places than I have!!! I wish I could join them but I have work to do!! *cry* Bad timing. Hopefully to take more photos for my blog. I think it's a bit dull at the moment.

HO~HO~HO~~~~

p/s Dean and Sam are just so cute!!!!!! Not sure how many out there know who I'm talking about :P

Do you judge?

I have this, erm, well, I'm not sure if this person is a friend but let's say it's a "he". It was a pleasant encounter when we started being friends. But things got out of hand after a while. He has been quite a pain in the neck all this time. He thinks he's smart or he thinks he knows me so well that he can read my mind. (I can't even read my own mind sometimes!!!) There were times I just wanted to tell him that the things he said were simply ignorant but I know he will never listen, because (like I said) he thinks he knows me so well.

Friends, who know me well enough, will know what I'm really like, and they will not judge me by the things they hear or see. Words they hear and things they see could be just the tip of an iceberg. Hence, a real smartie will know when not to judge and draw a boundary line.

Alas, who are we to judge in the first place?

God's day - S.U.N.D.A.Y.

I love Sunday, because this is the only day of the week I get to rest, without distractions. I work six days a week, not very much different to the time I was in Sibu, where I worked seven days a week. I used to be happy-go-lucky and down-to-earth, but I was transformed otherwise since I started working and living in Sibu. Yes, reality bites.

Recently (perhaps not that recent), I find myself very attached to what they call "worldly" things. Everything I do, it's money-related; everything I plan, it's money-focused. Everything I do, I do it for you~~~~~Sadly but true, the YOU is the money. I know, go ahead, laugh at me for being pathetic and forlorn. Perhaps you have forgotten, or maybe not, let me just kindly remind you, there's one Chinese saying “金钱不是万能,但没钱万万不能”, literally translated as "Money is not everything, but having no money is nothing. I used to think, quite ignorantly I must admit, what money can do that love can't?? Now, I couldn't agree more. I know we can't be thinking about money every single moment, but sometimes we have to. As reality bites *ouch* Though we have to bear in mind that "have to" <> "must", so you still have the freedom to choose ^_^

Inevitably, I am not denying that God's the provider of all. The lilies and the birds. On the other hand, I also realise that I have to sweat by my brows in order to eat my food. Somehow, I feel that we too often say things for granted, such as "I know God will provide and I have faith in it!" and then the story ends there. Where are the deeds? What good is it if we claim to have faith but have no deeds? We all know the Bible says the faith by itself is dead. Frankly speaking, I'm not a bible expert so I shouldn't be doing all this talking. God, forgive me for I'm sinned.

I should spend more time with God, else I'm easily led astray. So do you, mate ;) Have a brilliant Sunday!

Homosapiens...

Homosapiens, what can you actually say about them? A legend of all or simply a group of "thick" living organisms? Sometimes, you simply wonder how individuals act and think. You'll be astonished how they can talk as if they have no brains? ...or simply THICK!!! I must admit, I have been one of them. See, I use "present perfect tense" as I'm not so sure if I'll be doing it again any minute soon. Therefore, just on the safe side as it never feels good to eat your own words.

The first entry of this month is specially dedicated to "someone" I've loved and will always love deep inside my heart, which I am not going to reveal who that is. I feel that I still deserve a little bit of privacy here. (Frankly speaking, I chose not to say because this matter seems unreasonable or, may I phrase it as, ridiculous to most of the people out there. So just not to make myself look foolish ^^). It's definitely not Henry as he's still living healthily in Auckland at the moment, thank you for asking.

To my loved one: 06.08.2006 - 01.11.2007

It was the day with gentle summer breeze,
And there you were, lying sluggishly on your little tummy;
The moment our eyes locked,
I know it was love at first sight,
It was destiny.

The times we spent together were infinite,
And moments we had were phenomenal,
Nobody understood you better,
And loved you more than I ever did,
My whole life was lived around you.

Not many people can make me laugh,
But you were one of the few,
The way you showed off your new tricks caught my heart,
My life was more meaningful when I was with you.

It was hard for me to say goodbye that day,
And trust me when I said:
It was never my intention to leave you like that,
I wish I could do something, for you.

It is heart wrecking to accept that you are gone, forever;
And now I am dwelling in agony and pain,
No one will ever understand how I feel now.
Albeit, you are no longer in my life,
I'll always miss you and love you.

-From me to you-
